Abstract: . - Luxor, ones capital of the Ancient Egypt, looks eternal. Nevertheless, the recent evolutions, notably in the retail business, threat its future. Sustainable development concerns with respect to impacts on the economy, social structure and the environment are hardly taken into account in this vibrant city. More and more, the retail business relies on external means and generates a social and spatial segregation.
